Let Hope Grow - Walk to Defeat ALS

This is Why We Walk

Why We Walk… The words, “You have ALS,” send a rippling effect of fear, despair, and uncertainty through the souls of the patient and all his/her loved ones. Since ALS is a relatively obscure disease in terms of public understanding, the walk helps us to not only raise awareness to the plight of patients, families, and caregivers, but, it also affords us the opportunity to connect with others fighting the same battle. Many have formed bonds through social media; however, having the ability to get together for a day to celebrate our solidarity and support to find a cure and secure resources to satisfy ongoing needs makes the fight against ALS feel more achievable. Plus, the warmth of hugs from other ALS family members brings endearing relief!
